SAN FRANCISCO - CA
This summer, we had a fun opportunity to travel across the country to visit the West Coast. This was a trip of many firsts for us as a family. This was the first time that all of us were on the West Coast all at the same time. Calvin and I had only been separately. This was our first time visiting San Francisco. It was also Emet's first time flying in an airplane. We planned our trip so that we allowed for a couple of days to explore the city - even so, we had a lot to pack in to a couple of days. Even with a 6 month old (at the time) we had an absolute blast! He was such a great exploring companion, even if he was just along for the ride.
We had large expectations for San Francisco and found it to live up to those expectations. The city was really unique. It was captivating to watch the trolleys and the buses all around the city. And, oh the housing! I loved the housing and its unique mix of victorian and modern architecture - not to mention all of the bay windows! One of the top things to visit while there was the Full House House, of course. We loved this show growing up and it was so cool it see it in person.
One feature of the city that we had not expected was the immense amount of fog! It was so lovely how it hung around the Golden Gate Bridge. The fog was so beautiful, enchanting, and mysterious and it added an unexpected (yet welcomed) element to experiencing the city.
Towards the end of our visit, we spent a significant amount of time in the Fisherman's Wharf. This area was a thriving hub of seafood, souvenir shops, street performers, and seagulls. The city was so full of life and culture. We quickly knew that we wouldn't have enough time to see everything we had hoped so we soaked up what we could.
