HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY - 2020
For me, so much of Halloween and Christmas are the traditions that happen before the actual day. When I think of fall, I instantly think of Halloween. It all connects naturally in my mind. We wanted to make this Halloween extra special for the boys with it being 2020.
We started out the month of October with a trip to Hubers (a local farm). We’ve done this every year we’ve lived in Louisville. It’s a special tradition that we look forward to every year. One of our favorite things (besides picking pumpkins) is getting bags of Lucky Charms marshmallows.
In place of trick-or-treating (because 2020), we created an obstacle course for them to “complete Jedi training” in our backyard. So for this year, for Halloween, we journeyed to a galaxy far, far away. It was magical.
I hope you enjoy reliving these moments with our family.

HALLOWEEN DAY
I loved that Halloween was on Saturday this year. It made it extra slow and relaxing. Plus the weather couldn’t have been more perfect.
As I think about my favorite part of the day, it was definitely the “Jedi Training” Calvin and I set up for our boys. Our neighborhood wasn’t doing traditional door-to-door candy collection, so we tried to think of something fun we could do with the boys that was connected to the theme of our costumes this year.
We hung candy in the trees and the boys had to use their lightsabers to knock the candy down. We also hid candy under boxes that they had to kick and “use the force” to knock over. This led to a clue that told them how to find a missing treasure.
This ended up being a Halloween to remember. And I think we may have started some new lasting traditions along the way.
