ENTERING THE FALL SEASON - 2017

Saturday marked the official beginning of the fall season along with the cooler weather. I am a lover of spring and summer but I really enjoy how the smell in the air changes with the fall, the way the sunlight begins to hit differently, and the final leg of the year begins.

It’s hard to believe that we’ve almost been back in Louisville for a full year now. I’ve been thinking about this last year and some of the wonderful memories we made just a few days after arriving in town.

Last year we let Emet dress up as the most adorable Buzz Lightyear there ever was! At the time, it was his favorite toy and he took it everywhere. Shortly after we arrived, we made plans to go door-to-door in the neighborhood of some dear friends of ours - which meant we needed to go out and find a good costume for him to wear. Coming straight off the move, we didn't know how we would dress Emet up, so we thought we’d just go out and see what was available on short notice. We stopped at the mall to pick up a few things that were on our list. One of our favorite traditions is to stop by the Disney store and have a few minutes of magic. This time, Emet ran right over to the Halloween costumes and found a Buzz Lightyear. We didn't know if it would fit him, but we tried it on right there in the store and it fit perfectly!

We spent the evening of Halloween walking around the neighborhood with close friends, enjoying the crisp weather, drinking cider, and laughing so much as our children collected candy.

I love making memories with our family and making the holidays special and memorable for them. I’m excited to celebrate in our own neighborhood this year and with our newest little addition to the family.

What are some of your favorite ways to celebrate Halloween and other fall events?
