MASTER BEDROOM

Welcome to our Master Bedroom!

There are so many things I love about this house. One of my favorite things are the doors and doorknobs! All the little details really add to the character and life of this little bungalow. Sometimes, its just a matter of finding the little detailed gems that already exist and then building out from them.

Sometimes, old furniture can feel stale and it loses its luster over time. Instead of getting a new bedroom set, we decided to dress up our pieces and spruce them up a bit. We purchased these nobs at Anthropologie  - they always have the best selection to choose from!

The last two homes we've lived in have been older homes - which is our favorite. We LOVE the character older homes have.  But, this also meant there was very limited closet space. We knew that we wanted all of our clothes in our bedroom, but the only way this could work was if we had a wardrobe or built a shelving unit on one of the walls. Calvin used to work for a custom closet company and knew a few things about how to attack this project. ;) Yay! We took a trip to the closest Ikea and found a beautiful and functional closet set. It is very customizable and easy to adjust as your life and wardrobe changes. Check out ALGOT and all the options they provide.

The color in this room was a very dirty mint green, which made the room feel unwelcoming. We were SO ready to paint this room that we didn't even make time to take good before and after photos. We decided, throughout the house, that we wanted a color that felt clean and helped complement the idea of being bright and happy! :) We chose Gravity as the color for many of the rooms we repainted. We've been very pleased with this color choice and its achieved the look we were hoping for.

In our previous homes, we've always used a headboard with our bedroom set.  But we really wanted to achieve a more open feel in the room and we fell in love with the change.

As I've mentioned before, we are renting this home after recently relocating. We've loved the adventure of living in #BungalowDon, we're also looking forward to owning again soon where we can make bigger and more impactful changes to spaces like this.

We are so thankful for the this space and have fallen in love with all of the features of this room.  We are excited about all the many memories we will share together at #BungalowDon.

Let me know about some of the ways you have maximized the space in your home!
